Git is a free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.

Workshop on Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security

Radha Govind Group of Institutions has organized a workshop on Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security in collaboration with National Institute of Advance Computer Education (NIACE) at Seminar Hall-01 First Floor.

This workshop was open for all the students of B.Tech,MBA & MCA .faculty members were also present from different departments. In this workshop students were introduced with different techniques of hacking by Mr. Manish Kumar & Mr. Jitendra Kumar. Students were enjoying the whole session with full zest & zeal. The session ended with quiz conducted by NIACE and vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Jay Kumar (HOD, CS Department).

Radha Govind Group of Institutions organized a workshop on LibreOffice on 5 August 2016 at 2 PM. The workshop held in FOSS Lab-01, first floor.

LibreOffice is the most actively developed free and open source office suite, a project of The Document Foundation. The LibreOffice suite comprises programs for word processing, the creation and editing of spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings, working with databases, and composing mathematical formula.

Abhikalan, The Society of Computer Science organized a workshop on WordPress, an Open Source CMS under the guidance of Mr. Arvind Kumar (Asst. Prof. Dept of CS).

WordPress is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. WordPress is installed on a web server, which either is part of an Internet hosting service or is a network host itself; the first case may be on a service like WordPress.com, for example, and the second case is a computer running the software package WordPress.org. An example of the second case is a local computer configured to act as its own web server hosting WordPress for single-user testing or learning purposes. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system. WordPress was used by more than 26.4% of the top 10 million websites as of April 2016. WordPress is the most popular blogging system in use on the Web at more than 60 million websites.

Director Prof. Brajesh Chauhan & all the faculty members of CS/IT were also present in the workshop. Hacking is not about the illegal things it’s all about how to secure your system. Though its revenue comes from a customer relationship management (CRM) product, Salesforce also capitalizes on commercial applications of social networking through acquisition. Build Android App using App Inventor 2

Android has a dictionary meaning of being a human that resembles automation. The true character of its name is it’s the Google created software stack for creating comprehensive Mobile Applications and Software to realize the full potential of one’s Mobile handset and its possibilities. Abhikalan, The Society of Computer Science organized workshop on a topic ” Build your own android app using App inventor 2″ on 5 April 2016. This amazing workshop was delivered by Final Year students Parinita Agarwal, Nishi Agarwal, Sumaiya Malik, Deepika Singh & Vikrant Sirohi. All the participants of different years enjoyed workshop & made 6 android app in a day. Anchors of the event were Shivee Gautam & Shivani Tyagi from B.Tech CS Third Year. Well Done Guys.

HTML & CSS Workshop

Abhikalan, The Society of Computer Science organized a workshop on HTML & CSS for B.Tech Second Year students on Monday 4 April, 2016. This workshop was delivered by Nishi Agarwal (Final Year CS), Parinita Agarwal (Final Year CS), Shivani Tyagi (Third Year CS). In this workshop student learned the basic tags of html pages & uses of cascading style sheet. As you can see, these are as simple as it gets when it comes to HTML/CSS. But this workshop wasn’t just about the final results that students produced. In most cases, the results were probably fine. It was the process of completing the tasks that was studied. The Task were:
  1. Create a heading, paragraph, ordered list, ordered sub-list.
  2. Create a hyperlink, add an image, hyperlink the image.
  3. Align text in a table, change row background colors, color a hyperlink and add a hover color.
  4. Fix a broken image, an unclosed tag, and an unmatched selector.
  5. Create and horizontally center a container div, and add a right sidebar in the container.
