Diwali Celebration-2016

Today Abhikalan, The Society of Computer Science celebrated “Diwali-Festival of lights” at FOSS Lab-01 Radha Govind Group of Institutions, Meerut. The program commenced with traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony as a tribute to Maa Saraswati-Goddess of knowledge followed by knowledgeable words of our Guest of Honour Prof Ekram Husain, Managing Director RGGI, Dr. P.K Singh, Director RGGI and Prof. B.S Tyagi, Dean of Academics. They bless the gathering with their presence and diwali wishes.

Further the program proceeds with “candle lighting game”. In which all the students and faculty members participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The winners of the game were:

First- Dr. Vinky Sharma

Second- Prof. B.S Tyagi & Ms. Shadma Sami

Third- Dr. Tarun Kumar & Mr. Arun Bhardwaj

To add more charm to the event “Antakshiri” was played between students and teachers. In which teachers took the glory of victory. The Head of CS Department, Mr. Jay Kumar mesmerized the audience with his motivational thoughts. After that Mr. Arvind Kumar (Asst. Prof. CSE) spell bounded the audience with his inspiring poems and shayaris based on student life. In order to empower the audience Mr. Piyush Gupta and Mr. Arun Bhardwaj boost the environment with their motivational words.

A “musical chair game” was also organized to add more fun & excitement to the event. This game was won by Mr. Arun Bhardwaj, MCA Department.

 Program concluded with the best wishes of Diwali by Mr. Sandeep Sharma and vote of thanks by Mr. Jay Kumar.
